In November 2018, Grimy Goods had the honor to premiere a refreshing R&B single from local artist Elaine Faye, aka EE Beyond. Called “Dreamer’s Howl,” the song is actually remarkably quiet, mostly acoustic in sound, with the lyrical vigor of a burgeoning musician who is dedicated to her truth. As relevant as that single remains, the entire world has changed since its release, and not just due to the pandemic or the Black Lives Matter movement. Elaine Faye’s life would never be the same after she was diagnosed with breast cancer just weeks prior to the aforementioned track premiere.

Support EE Beyond and donate towards her cancer treatment. Let’s get her #BeyondCancer.

Starting at 11am PT, Radio Tulum is hosting a livestream to raise funds to support Faye in this time. The livestream will stretch over eight hours, featuring DJ sets by Just Emma, Magician On Duty, _iamreyes_, Afrotrace, and Savage & SHē. In this time, organizers hope you can find a moment to save her life.

Faye’s dream was always to become a musician. She attended the Musician’s Institute on a full scholarship and dove headfirst into becoming an artist. Her resilience was her greatest strength through a hard childhood, and it keeps her going still, even as bad news continues to come. Read more of her story on her website
