The old guard of rock and roll is not dead. Starcrawler has established itself as a band with venomous teeth, ready to infect any and everyone at their rowdy live shows. Now they are ready to merge their legacy with one of the greatest acts of all time. Starcrawler joined forces with Mike Campbell, an original member of Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers, to record a cover of “I Need To Know” for Tom’s 70th Birthday Bash back in October. The electricity of the live studio recording of “I Need To Know” comes through in the video accompanying the track. Campbell and Starcrawler guitarist Henri Cash had matching energies, grinding their axes until the song screeches to a halt. Lead singer Arrow de Wilde watches on from the comfort of her private booth, where not a sliver of the excitement of the moment was lost. Tom Petty is inimitable, and Starcrawler’s greatest accomplishment on “I Need To Know” is making the classic single all their own.
