Escaping further into his own daydream, Los Angeles musician Cuco continues the story arc of his earlier 2021 single, “Paradise” with a shimmery new tune, “Forevermore.” At the beginning of 2021, Cuco released the atmospheric, “Paradise,” a snappy R&B/Hip Hop inspired song with a slow down beat and echoey vocals. The theatrical music video paints a picturesque love getaway decorated with cheesy stage props all before switching gears and broadening the setting and background of Cuco’s imagination.
Now, with Cuco’s latest offering “Forevermore,” he continues on his escapade with romance, refining his thoughts and sound to create an ethereal pop tune about love and all the beautiful things that happen when you make it last. From Cuco’s soft croon to the delicate and content lyrics, Cuco strips down the synth-pop fusion he is known for and instead finds softer ground in the indie-pop rock persuasion complete with slow and soft guitar strums and lofty melodies.
The accompanying music video finds Cuco walking down a path when suddenly a yellow bike appears behind him, much to the delight of the artist. Riding around and roaming through a park, except sometimes the bike is stuck in place, Cuco shares his thoughts in a carefree and aimless matter. Familiar faces from his previous music video appear as the focus shifts from Cuco and his companions to an aerial view of trees and the sky as a time lapse captures the passing of day and night.
The pleasant and far off feeling of “Forevermore” and its music video create a delightful spaciness where one can just float along and let the mind wanhttps://www.paradiseforevermore.com/der. It’s an acceptance of good things and a hope that they will last.
