Beyond LA: Isabella Lovestory Shares a New Song “Exibisionista” from Upcoming Album “Amor Hardcore” Coming Oct. 5

Isabella Lovestory

Honduran-born pop-reggaeton phenomenon Isabella Lovestory has shared a new single and music video for “Exibisionista” off her upcoming album Amor Hardcore out Oct. 5. With its industrial electronica and thrumming bass, the track is a coercive high-voltage banger at the captivating center of which is the bewitching Isabella herself. And in the music video, she is literally the shimmering and shining center that radiates atop the dark rooftop of Mexico City where it was filmed.

On “Exibisionista,” she fuses the sensuality of an intimately thrumming reggaeton beat and the ecstatic spectacle of psych-pop. And interwoven between everything from the snap of its volatile bass to its surreal soundscape are Isabella’s sultry and scintillating vocals. In the music video, it all takes a more literal form as the artist appears in front of a grainy camera lens absolutely doused in silver-sparkling glitter. Striking poses in the oppressive darkness of the night like a feverish hallucination or a brilliantly shining phantom.

“Exibisionista” follows the release of a string of singles Isabella released last year, though she hadn’t yet announced the coming of Amor Hardcore just yet. They include the brash and frayed electronica track “Cherry Bomb,” the vintage-pop-soaked “Fashion Freak,” and the heady club-ready “Sexo Amor Dinero.” The album will also contain a killer roll call of other Latin artists like Ms. Nina, Chucky73, and MethMath.

Her musical tastes are far-flung, inspired by the reggaeton she listened to growing up in Tegucigalpa, Honduras via cousins and the alt-rock her dad played as a radio DJ like The Smiths and The Cure, as well as the hip-hop she quickly absorbed after a move to the U.S. and Canada. Amor Hardcore will serve as the introduction to the sum of those eclectic influences and reveal for all to see the rapt extremes of emotion that course in her music.
