When is Coachella? Answer: Coachella 2023 will take place across two weekends: April 14-16 and April 21-23.
As we all wait patiently for that 2023 Coachella lineup to drop, Goldenvoice, the promoter and festival organizer for Coachella continues to drop clues via their social media for thirsty fans. The latest clue is quite the quagmire. With just an “eyes to the sky” captioning two photos from the Los Angeles State Historic Park (once home to the best music festival ever FYF) revealing a string of orange balloons across the sky with the iconic downtown Los Angeles skyline, both day and night scenes — fans are left very confused.

Does this mean FYF [Fest] is finally making its highly anticipated rebirth (sans the sexual misconduct accusations)?
What makes the clue even more confusing is that the Bowery Presents, also posted a similar clue with the caption: “desert vibes over nyc.” The Bowery is an infamous New York promoter with shows at Terminal 5, Music Hall of Williamsburg, Brooklyn Steel and more. Why would they be sharing anything that has to do with Coachella? Inquiring minds want to know.

What most Coachella “fans” don’t know is that AEG, the mega company that owns Coachella, bought up a large stake in The Bowery Presents and its venues back in 2017.
“The partnership expands AEG Live’s and The Bowery Presents’ presence throughout the East Coast, increasing the number of venues under their purview and becoming the #1 concert promoter in New York City. The deal with The Bowery Presents is a natural bookend to the Goldenvoice brand, the force behind the Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival and Desert Trip, which AEG Live operates in Southern California.”
Perhaps the NYC clues imply there will be a set of Goldenvoice Presents April (Coachella side shows) in New York City, in addition to the usual Los Angeles and Southern California Coachella side shows. Whatever the clue means, it’s a solid indication of AEG’s growing reach in the concert and live event industry, leading with Coachella.
