Our beloved Yeah Yeah Yeahs have announced more 2023 tour dates! The iconic indie rock band will kick off their summer tour on May 5 in Washington D.C. and wrap on June 10 at the Greek Theatre in Berkeley, before heading off to festivals in Japan and Europe. The Yeah Yeah Yeahs will be playing with Perfume Genius and The Faint on select tour dates. Los Angeles fans can catch the Yeah Yeah Yeahs once again on May 13 at Just Like Heaven festival in Pasadena.

We last caught the Yeah Yeah Yeahs at the Hollywood Bowl this past October and it was absolute BLISS! See our video clip below where Karen O hopped off stage and planted herself right before our eyes and she sang their new song “Burning.” It was by far and epic performance, confetti cannons, floating eyeballs and all! Truth be told, we never tire of seeing the Yeah Yeah Yeahs live. Each performance is always a new core memory branded in our minds.
The band just released the video for “Blacktop,” one of our favorite tracks from their GRAMMY nominated 2022 album, Cool It Down, out now via Secretly Canadian. Watch the video below.
“‘Blacktop’ stuck out to me early on, the demo was very stripped down instrumentally and emotionally. It was a step towards what radical closeness feels like after a long separation,” Karen O explains. “Each record has one of these diamonds in the rough that just feels like flying to me. It felt right to keep the video as stripped down and dare I say beautiful in its naïveté. David Black put us in front of his 70s analog video camera with the intention to pull stills for band shots. He had me sing to ‘Blacktop’ before I had even memorized the lyrics, I thought I knew the song by heart but it felt like an introduction, like meeting it for the first time. It wasn’t intended to end up as a video and as a return to the earliest visuals from the record it completes a circle, we’re so happy we have it, a simple layered performance for a deceptively simple song. We hope you enjoy.”
