Masego has shared a new single and music video off their forthcoming self-titled sophomore album, sharing the mind-bending new banger “Two Sides.” He will also be kicking off his You Never Visit Me Tour this March, which includes a sold-out show at The Observatory in Santa Ana on Mar. 13 and two nights at The Wilter in Los Angeles on Apr. 27 and 28. So far the GRAMMY-nominated artist has unveiled three songs total from the record, including the buoyantly percussive dance track “Say You Want Me” and the ecstatically soulful “You Never Visit Me.”

With every new track shared Masego has further instilled his penchant for bringing together an eclectic collection of spacious sonics and revitalizing vocals. On “Two Sides” he syncs up a hypnotic collection of beats to a track that digs into all the ways we as people rarely have one version of ourselves that we present to the world.

“Two sides, choose your fighter,” he raps at the song’s beginning as concussive and shimmering electronica dance all around him. “I’m so Gemini, Gemini / Who you trying to see tonight?” Characteristically entwined by both a suave funk and impossibly groovy hooks, the track is another reminder of why Masego is such an exciting rising creator of R&B/soul music.

The music video for “Two Sides,” directed by Mahaneela, follows the song’s narrative rather closely as it visualizes Masego out on a surreal double date. The only problem is their companions are doppelgangers of themselves — which of course uncovers all the chaotic and contradicting identities present. Shot inside an absolutely regal dining hall, the video introduces us to some of Masego’s alter-egos: which include “The Teacher,” “The Island King,” and “The Star Gazer.” Each brings some new depth and mystery to Masego’s multi-faceted persona.
