Straight from Norfolk, UK, Ida Mae is a husband-and-wife duo that is ready to make their mark on the music scene. Stephanie Jean and Chris Turpin, formerly of the British alternative rock band Kill It Kid, relocated to Nashville and in 2019 they released their debut album Chasing Lights. Their music is a unique blend of acoustic alt-folk, blues-rock, and Americana with passionate vocals and sonorous guitars. With their catchy melodies and amorous sounds, Ida Mae are a band you need to see live. Catch them in Los Angeles on May 16 at the Roxy.

The duo’s tour journey has been a wild ride, with performances alongside the likes of Willie Nelson, Alison Krauss, Marcus King, and Greta Van Fleet. Traveling from gig to gig has molded and cemented their creative process, leading to the release of their second album, Click Click Domino. Distributed by Thirty Tigers, the album only further established their sound and marked them as a promising and up-and-coming act.
Now, Ida Mae has just released their latest single, “When Eden Was My Girl,” featuring the guitar skills of Marcus King. According to Chris Turpin, the duo wanted the song to have a “simple, raw, deep groove,” and they have certainly delivered. The track features dueling lead guitars that create an explosive and dynamic sound, perfectly complimented by Stephanie Jean’s sultry vocals and entrancing lyrics. Get ready to be taken away by the captivating atmosphere this song has to offer. Stream it below.
