This is your chance to participate in the vivid pageantry and wonder of a gypsy fiesta — its grace and grandeur arriving all the way from Andalusia, Spain at the Walt Disney Concert Hall. María Bermúdez (art director/dancer) will serve as your curated guide through those festivities, bringing her decades of experience as a global performer to the stage. An Angeleno born and raised, her rise as a flamenco dancer inspired the award-winning documentary “Streets of Flamenco” and in 2022 she was named Flamenco Ambassador by the city of Jerez de La Frontera.

Joining Bermúdez will be a stunning group of artists tasked with dazzling you via the vibrant motion and music of flamenco. This includes composer/guitarist Diego Carrasco, whose five decades as a devotee of this tradition have made him one of its foremost performers. Flamenco-fusion composer/singer Pelé de Los Reyes and composer/guitarist Curro Carrasco, both founding members of the Spanish group Navajita Plateá, will also be in attendance. Coral de Los Reyes and multi-instrumentalist Diego Amador illuminate the gypsy roots of the composers/singers that will take the stage throughout the night.

In addition, singers like Carmen Grilo and Ana de Los Reyes (sister to both Pelé and Coral) will lend their unique voices to the tapestry of elegant sound and movement created by the night’s musicians and dancers. These include percussionist Ané Carrasco — who will share the stage with his father Diego Carrasco — and guitarist Manuel Valencia. Dancing with Bermúdez will be José Maya, a world-renowned performer who has shared the stage with the likes of Marc Anthony, Beyoncé, Björk, and Juan Luis Guerra, as well as flamenco stars such as Antonio Canales, Juan Ramírez, and Farruquito.
