After selling out the first leg of their U.S. tour, Death Cab For Cutie and the Postal Service have announced additional North American dates for their 20th anniversary co-headline ‘Give Up Transatlanticism’ tour. The new tour dates include shows in Portland, OR, Salt Lake City, UT, Atlanta, GA , and more. The tour will also venture to London next year.
Tickets go on sale to the general public on Friday, Dec. 8. The earliest presale will begin Wednesday, Dec. 6. Get the presale code and need-to-know details below.
The extended tour run will see both groups performing their beloved 2003 albums in total – The Postal Service’s RIAA Platinum-certified Give Up and Death Cab for Cutie’s RIAA Gold-certified breakthrough fourth studio LP Transatlanticism. The two classics were released within eight months of one another, and created with a total recording budget of just $20k.
Gibbard, the co-founder of both bands, will moonlight throughout the tour, performing with both The Postal Service – comprised of Gibbard, Jimmy Tamborello, and Jenny Lewis – as well as with Death Cab for Cutie (alongside Nick Harmer, Dave Depper, Zac Rae, and Jason McGerr). Indie rockers Slow Pulp are set to support each night of the tour.
The Official Platinum presale opens on Wednesday, Dec. 6, at 10am local time. You won’t need a presale code to participate in this presale, but you should expect higher ticket prices. Just select a tour date and go for the tickets marked as “Official Platinum.”
