Dressed and painted in a patina green as a fabulous drag version of Lady Liberty, pop sensation Chappell Roan took to the stage at the Governor’s Ball this past weekend to speak up about freedom. The beloved artist spoke up about freedom and trans rights, women’s rights, and especially the importance of “freedom for all oppressed people in occupied territories.”
But the activism doesn’t stop there. Chappell Roan also shared ahead of “My Kink Is Karma” that she turned down an invite to perform at the White House: “This is a response to the White House, who asked me to perform for Pride. We want liberty, justice, and freedom for all. When you do that, that’s when I’ll come.”
Chappell Roan also shared a new song, “Subway,” that showcased those beautiful pipes of hers. Like, wow!
