What is the Vibe Check Podcast About?
Since August of 2022, the trio has released weekly discussions about what’s happening in the world, from politics and culture to everything in between. The podcast functions as a kind of live group chat between the three, one that gives voice to the perspectives of Black queer voices on all the many highs and lows of the last two years. More recently, some of the topics they’ve explored on the show include the history of the word “diva,” a detailing of major feuds in the music industry, and the student-led protests on college campuses in response to the Palestinian genocide.

Who should go to this event?
If you enjoy thoughtful conversations on social justice issues and those that intersect arts and culture, then Vibe Check is right up your alley. From police violence to queer-baiting in Hollywood, the latest Republican craziness to reflections on films like “American Fiction” and “Bad Boys: Ride or Die,” the trio covers a lot of ground in every hour-long episode. The eclectic nature of their dialogues with each other means listeners can jump in blind and still find themselves hooked—whether by the topics themselves or the honesty and wit with which they engage them.
See comedian Laci Mosley
Vibe Check doesn’t often invite special guests onto the podcast, but when they do, they sure know how to pick them. With credits that range from the “iCarly” reboot to everything from “Kenan” and “Insecure” to “Better Call Saul,” Laci Mosley has lent her talents to a wide variety of television appearances. She also hosts her own award-winning podcast, Scam Goddess, which is “dedicated to fraud and all those who practice it!” Paired with the trio from Vibe Check, we expect Mosley to inject her wry sense of humor into the evening’s back-and-forths and maybe even a bit of a crossover with her true crime breakdowns of some truly infamous scams.
Pro tips when experiencing the Ford
Although the show doesn’t start until 7:30pm we recommend you get to the Ford a little after gates open at 6pm—especially if this is your first time at the stunning venue. If you’d prefer to avoid traffic on the 101 there is a free shuttle service offered that will pick up attendees who arrive using the Metro B Line (Red). Should you decide to drive, keep in mind, there are both on-site (stacked) and off-site (not stacked) parking options with varying rates.
However you decide to arrive, just get there early! Not only will this remove any headache from frantically trying to find your seats minutes before curtain, but it will also give you the chance to explore the Ford. You can even bring your own food and drinks to enjoy a picnic at The Zev Terrace or Edison Plaza (first-come, first-served table spaces are available, so get there before the rush).
Tickets for the show start at $25, but Grimy Goods will host a giveaway soon! You can subscribe to our newsletter to be the first to know when the giveaway drops.
