The 2024 season for The Ford has been announced with performances by Devendra Banhart, Reyna Tropical, Guster, Airborne Toxic Event, Meridian Brothers, Jeff Rosenstock, and more. The Ford will kick off its season on July 14th with Vibe Check. A variety of events will continue through summer and fall before closing their season on October 31st with a 50th Anniversary screening of Young Frankenstein.

Unsurprisingly, The Ford will again play host to some of the city’s must-see concerts. Devendra Banhart, who released his emotionally sprawling new album Flying Wig last year, will be among this year’s performers. Airborne Toxic Event and Los Angeles-based punk experimentalist Jeff Rosenstock are also scheduled to appear. Guster will share a career-spanning concert with the LA Phil, while Colombian outfit Meridian Brothers will unleash their psyched-out brand of tropical music.

Those looking to celebrate the musical and cultural influences of Latin America on Los Angeles need look no further than two special events at The Ford: the 8th Annual Boleros De Noche featuring José Feliciano and Tres Souls; and Cumbiatón LA’s second annual Noche de Cumbia with Reyna Tropical, Los Gaiteros de San Jacinto, and other special guests.

Hip-hop fans can join DJ Battlecat for a tribute to West Coast legend J Dilla for DILLA JAZZ, the show taking place on what would have been his 50th birthday. The stacked lineup boasts big names like Bilal, J. Rocc, and more.

There will also be plenty of film-centered events at The Ford this season. The Natural World of Studio Ghibli will give attendees the chance to experience three magical films — Princess Mononoke, Spirited Away, and Nausicaä of the Valley of the Wind — at the enchanting outdoor venue. Partnerships with Street Food Cinema will also bring a night of horror and comedy with screenings of The Shining and Young Frankenstein to close out the season.

Families are always welcome at The Ford, and in 2024, the LA Soundscapes series will return. Incorporating music, dance, film, theater, poetry, and spoken word — the events usually start in the morning with fun activities for kids, such as arts and crafts. This summer, young attendees can enjoy Japanese drumming performances with the TAIKOPROJECT, the ¡FIESTA! Bob Baker Marionette show performance and a special dancing and percussive stomping performance titled Un Fandanguito con Caña Dulce y Caña Brava. The Ford once again proves to be a sensory treat for the little ones.

The LA Soundscapes series includes up to two FREE tickets for children 12 and under with every full-priced ticket purchased.

Why We Love The Ford

The Ford exists as one of the oldest performing arts venues in Los Angeles, dating back to the 1920s. Since the LA Phil took over five years ago, it has once more become a space central to the city’s many multidisciplinary and intercultural performances. Not only is it a beautiful place — boasting a 1,200-seat amphitheater and a 32-acre park — but it’s also incredibly intimate for an amphitheater. Once a best-kept secret amongst locals, The Ford has become one of the premiere destinations for experiencing Los Angeles’ vibrant creative scenes. Whether you’re catching a concert or dance performance, a film screening, or a night of theater, you couldn’t ask for a more breathtaking spot to enjoy the arts.
