This week’s three best new songs are all about the soothing listens that ride along the silky waves of folk and slow pop with a fresh side of 80-style dance pop. For more new songs we have on repeat, check out our Best New Songs of the Month playlist, which we update daily with new tracks. You can also discover new acts through our Artists You Should Know column.

Tasha “Love’s Changing”
What starts as a light and breezy folk-pop ballad takes a suspenseful turn about halfway through the song as Tasha’s vocals change from a saccharine tone to a more dramatic one. But those sweet-as-honey vocals return at the end, letting you know everything will be alright. The song is a soothing yet highly infectious listen.
“‘Love’s Changing’ is the last song I finished writing for the album and feels like its perfect final note. While the album is in some ways about loss, it’s also about all of the beauty discovered on the other side of loss, and this song encapsulates that warmth and optimism,” Tasha explains.
TASHA’s new album, All This and So Much More is out September 20th on Batonet.

Wasia Project “Somebody Come Through”
Brother-sister duo Olivia Hardy and Will Gao released their highly anticipated new EP, Isotope, via AWAL. And with it came a gorgeous collection of songs, specifically “Somebody Come Through.” Hardy’s breathy vocals are like a warm hug that comforts with every tender word she sings. The arrangements of this delicious pop ballad keep listeners on their toes as the song climbs and dips with intensity. It takes you on a roller coaster of the most aural scenic highs and dramatic lows.
Stream the Wasia Project’s new EP and catch the band on tour. The band heads on tour at the end of September with two nights in Los Angeles at the Fonda Theatre on October 16 and 18.

Allie X featuring Empress Of “Galina”
On this updated version of “Galina,” Allie X teams up with Empress of for a throwback to the club. The two take listeners back to the 80s dance floor with an insatiable dance-pop track. The nostalgic sound reminds of the days in Los Angeles when folks would cruise Whittier BLVD blasting their favorite oldies or parking and dancing to the synth-drenched, beat-driven sounds of Debbie Deb. With the added vocals, the song is elevated to maximum Galina vibe.
