UPDATE: Jane’s Addiction issued an apology to their fans via their Instagram Stories. “We want to extend a heartfelt apology to our fans for the events that unfolded last night.” The band also announced they would be canceling their Sept. 15th show in Bridgeport.
At Jane’s Addiciton’s concert on Friday, September 13th, at the Leader Bank Pavilion in Boston, lead singer Perry Farrell pushed and threw a punch at bandmate and guitarist Dave Navarro. The reason why is still unknown; however, several videos show Navarro not engaging in any violence and instead attempting to hold Farrell off while further taking steps back as Farrell continues to push forward and eventually swing at Navarro.
Farrell’s wife, Etty Lau Farrell, took to her Instagram to share a lengthy play-by-play of her experience at the show. With her comment, she shared a video of the altercation from her point of view.
Etty shared that “Perry had been suffering from tinnitus and a sore throat every night.” She also explained how “Perry’s frustration had been mounting, night after night, he felt that the stage volume had been extremely loud and his voice was being drowned out by the band.”
The band has yet to comment on the altercation, but hordes of fans who were at the show and recent Jane’s Addiction concerts chimed in to share their first-hand accounts. Many called out Etty for “enabling” Perry, while others referred to her post as “gaslighting.”

One fan at the Boston show shared: “Perry was totally loaded, which caused him to be off time much of the night. He missed numerous cues and lines during multiple songs, but the band gracefully and very professionally played around him and repeatedly gave him 2nd chances to get in time.”
A fan who attended Jane’s Addiction, New York show chimed in and stated: “Respectfully, I left the Tuesday NYC show early because it was too disturbing to watch Perry. He was wasted. (The band was great, btw.) Please get him the help he needs.”
Jane’s Addiction is currently on a co-headline tour with Love and Rockets. Their next tour date is slated for Sunday, September 15th. The band have yet to comment on last night’s concert and their pending tour dates.
