RNJ shares a smooth-as-silk new single titled “Shikata Ga Nai.” The Guam-born, San Francisco-based artist has a unique flavor of hip-hop sprinkled with a bit of punk rock (“punk rap”). Gracing previous Grimy Goods’ Best Songs of the Month playlists with his insatiable releases “California” and “Kill My Vibe,” RNJ takes the vibe to a whole new level with “Shikata Ga Nai.”

Teaming up with vocalist Bonnie Darco, whose velvety vocals add a luscious layer to the already silky single, the track bops and bounces to a slick beat and funky strings. RNJ’s smooth flows “explores the Japanese concept that some things cannot be helped, so just let go and allow the flow.” Together, RNJ and Darco project mindful lyricism with the intention of a cathartic release, all wrapped up into one slick head-banger.
