The Dodgers will be back home later in the week, but Linkin Park isn’t going anywhere near Dodger Stadium, scaling down their Sept. 13 show to Intuit Dome and losing opener Queens of the Stone Age. The announcement follows waning ticket sales, and with the downsized tour date, not even scalpers are sending in their bots.
What was meant to be a big moment for the band after a rocky relaunch has been scaled down to Intuit Dome, a still big venue at 18,000 seats but nowhere near Dodger Stadium’s 56,000. The advent? Cheaper ticket options, with the lowest – randomly selected, raffle style – coming in at $40.
One user on Reddit said, “Linkin Park should totally have just done an album with a bunch of collabs and a few Mike [Shinoda] only songs, and it would have been fine.”
When frontman Chester Bennington died in 2017, Linkin Park understandably went on hiatus, leaving their future uncertain. Up until that point, they were still going strong with One More Light, their seventh studio album that landed them another hit with “Heavy” featuring Kiiara.
Then, in September of last year, they returned with new members: lead singer Emily Armstrong of Dead Sara and drummer Colin Brittain. Right out of the gate, controversy came for the reformed Linkin Park when fans learned Armongstong defended convicted rapist Danny Masterson and had ties to the Church of Scientology.

She later apologized for defending Masterson, but backlash from people like Mars Volta singer Cedric Bixler-Zavala, who said “Bigmouth strikes again, and I could give a shit what the fuck you all didn’t believe in the first place because I fucking told you” after previously criticizing her.
Despite everything, the show went on, starting at a sold-out Kia Forum show and continuing with their latest album, From Zero, released on November 15 via Warner Records.
Those who bought tickets to see Linkin Park at Dodger Stadium were refunded and got first dibs on the new tickets at Intuit Dome.
Another Redditor spoke more broadly, adding, “There are bigger things at play as well. Beyoncé is apparently having trouble selling tickets for her summer tour…I think people are sick of the prices for these events and with everything going on, just aren’t willing to overpay for entertainment anymore.”

However, some of the harshest comments came from Instagram users as early as when Linkin Park’s Dodger Stadium show was announced.
“Who dafuq booked them at Dodgers???!!!! Nobody wants Linkin park 2.0 for $100 nose bleed especially with that Scientologist Danny masterson supporter”
“I think a Scientologist fronted band of any kind might have a bit of a tougher time than they’re used to here.”
As for Queens of the Stone Age not performing with Linking Park, the band canceled the rest of their 2024 tour in August so lead vocalist Josh Homme can get “essential medical care.”
JPEGMAFIA will join Linkin Park at their Intuit Dome show. Plenty of tickets are still available with nosebleeds starting at $123.
