Doechii speaks up “For Black people, for Latino people, for trans people, for the people in Gaza,” during her best female hip hop artist acceptance speech at the BET Awards. 

The beloved swamp princess used her acceptance speech to speak out against the injustice happening outside the Peacock Theater in downtown L.A., where thousands of Angelenos gathered to protest for immigrant rights.

“I do wanna address what’s happening right now outside of the building,” said Doechii during her acceptance speech. “There are ruthless attacks that are creating fear and chaos in our communities in the name of law and order. Trump is using military force to stop a protest. And I want y’all to consider what kind of government it appears to be when every time we exercise our democratic right to protest, the military is deployed against us. What type of government is that?”
