Following the release of his first ever EP, DOGFOOD demos, in February, alternative rap artist Joshua Raw is now gearing up for a new chapter with the release of “LANDLORD” from his upcoming project, Sasquatch.

Having ushered in a new era, which started when he unveiled the Sasquatch alias on the previously released “SUBURBIA,” the North Carolina native and Biking With Francis member has been vocal about being inspired by forward-thinking artists like Tyler, The Creator.

At first, the production on “LANDLORD” sounds as though it could have come from an earlier Tyler project, thanks to its wavy quality and heavy synths. However, Joshua switches up the energy when a brooding bass lays the foundation for a confrontational flow.

It’s also at this point that Joshua gets to show the range of his voice, ranging from lower registers to high-pitched vocals that contrast the hard-hitting drums that repeatedly slap you in the face. Before “LANDLORD” reaches its last leg, Joshua has already experimented with his voice and style, never settling for one lane so as to show how versatile he’s already become.

Considering Joshua came out of the gate of his solo career swinging with songs like “Blowing Steam,” a similarly impressive genre-bending track that remains his biggest to date, there’s little reason to deny he can live up to the high standard he set for himself back in 2022.
