Up-and-coming rockstar, Ecca Vandal, made her national television debut on Jimmy Kimmel Live last night with a fierce performance of her hit single “CRUISING TO SELF SOOTHE.” New fans compared her infectious performance to Joan Jett, Courtney Love, and old school No Doubt (before Gwen took her current route).
Grimy Goods has been spotlighting Ecca Vandal for a few years now. In our Artists You Should Know video, we pointed out how she channels a distinct punk energy; however, that’s just one of many distinguishable traits. With quite the unique style from sound to aesthetics and movements, Ecca Vandal ultimately reminds us of a young Brody Dalle of The Distillers, as well as early M.I.A. So, if you’re down with all those iconic artists and sounds, you’re going to absolutely love Ecca Vandal. She has a nostalgic vibe, but makes it all her own with an insatiable stage presence to boot.
After a Los Angeles show debut last year, followed by a spot at Camp Flog Gnaw and then Coachella this year, Ecca Vandal’s trajectory has been full speed ahead. And we’re so here for it.
Ecca Vandal’s new album LOOKING FOR PEOPLE TO UNFOLLOW, is out May 22nd via Loma Vista Recordings. To celebrate, she’s putting on a small club show here in Los Angeles. Stay tuned for our coverage.
