TwoLips is the project of multi-hyphenate Kianah LongChase: a painter, musician, rapper, aerialist, actress, dancer, and choreographer whose art is solely defined by its boundless spirit. Making her upcoming performance at Echo Park Rising this weekend at Sticky Rice this Saturday, September 9th one of many un-missable sets. With three EPs to her name, her discography spans a truly inexhaustible fusion of genres — from dance and sensually nostalgic pop to hyperkinetic hip-hop cut with jazz and electronica.
Her latest single “I Like Attention” crackles with exactly the kind of manic and sultry energy you should expect from TwoLips. Joined by the equally mesmeric Tolliver, the duo feeds one another’s swaggering bravado with ecstatic zeal as their flirtatious bars are punctuated by a clamor of concussive beats.
This year has seen an explosion of new releases that included the EP FRIEND ANTHEM — a collaboration with fellow Los Angeles-based Def Sound. While also continuing to drop alluring hits like the entrancing banger “MFKN Free” (feat. Delwyn) and the chaotically ferocious “SNAKECHARMER” (feat. Def Sound).

Her debut Yellow Gold served as her introduction and is a warm deluge of vivacious R&B and soul. Tracks like “Filthy Hands” and the deliciously funky “Tight Dope Bad” are illustrious jams on an EP absolutely saturated with ravishing melodies. She released her second EP Psychowave four years later, expanding her stylistic realms with its tribal jazz rap creations.
