Los Angeles alternative rock favorite Meg Myers will headline the El Rey Theatre on November 17 in support of her upcoming album Sorry.

Myers has been a favorite of Grimy Goods since she played at Bardot’s It’s a School Night last February. The El Rey gig will be her largest headlining set in Los Angeles, and it’s happening as she’s generating a ton of buzz. She performed at ALT 98.7’s Summer Camp earlier this month and has always drawn nice crowds at her previous LA gigs, whether it’s been opening for BROODS or topping a show at the Echo.

Myers has been compared to angsty female performers such as Fiona Apple and Alanis Morrissette in the past, though her major influences were more along the lines of Alice in Chains and Nine Inch Nails, as she told us in an interview last year.

Myers has two singles out from her upcoming album, “Sorry” and more recently, “Lemon Eyes.” The debut full-length album drops on September 18. It features old favorites “Desire” and “Make a Shadow” and is one not to miss. Tickets are priced at $17 and go on sale Friday, August 28 at 10 am. The AMEX presale is on Wednesday, August 26 at 10 am and the Goldenvoice presale is on Thursday, August 27 at 10 am (password = LEMON). Doors are at 7 PM and the show starts at 8 PM.
