The last time I saw Friendly Fires perform live was at the Music Box back in November of 2009. Aside from being blown away by the opening act, the XX, Friendly Fires put on quite the high energy show. Lead singer, Ed Macfarlane was definitely “on one” this evening as he darted across the stage in his own dance-pop world while obsessively puckering his lips as though he were enjoying an intense coke high. For that reason alone and considering how amused I was at their show, I’d probably go check them out again.
After selling out their upcoming show at the Roxy, Friendly Fires will now headline the Music Box on June 10, 2011. There will be a Goldenvoice presale on Friday, January 21 at 10 a.m with tickets going on sale to the general public the following day, Saturday, January 22 at 10 a.m.
