Last night, he Bootleg Bar hosted a fantastic night with Nicole Atkins, a New Jersey-based singer / song writer with amazing charisma and stage presence. Her songs are a mix of poetry and stories filled with creativity portrayed with skillful musicianship mixing semi noir pop and a neo psychedelic folk rock. Ms. Atkins has a solid fan base in Los Angeles that packed the house as early as opening act Arc Iris hit the stage. When Nicole Atkins took the stage the audience sang along to songs like “Red Ropes” and became part of the chorus when she performed “Cool People”. It’s no surprise that this rising star will be one of the supporting acts on tour with Nick Cave & The Bad Seeds. Nicole Atkins’ new record, Slow Phaser, is out now via her label, OH’Mercy! Records.
