Sylvan Esso’s self-titled debut album is available for streaming a week before it’s May 13th release date, and we highly recommend you give this brilliant record a full spin (or two). Making their Los Angeles debut at the Satellite this past February, not many Angelenos were familiar with Sylvan Esso’s music then, but they will be after the release of their stellar debut LP. Formed by Amelia Meath, a member of the gorgeous singing trio, Mountain Man — Meath now takes her enchanting vocals to team up with electronic producer, Nick Sanborn (aka Made of Oak). Together the duo have delivered an album that is unique as it is catchy. Filled with the enticing female vox of Meath, the album comes alive with the eccentric layers of electronic beats fine-crafted by Sanborn. It’s a sexy debut with a recurring tribal vibe. Sanborn experiments with various sound deliveries and can surprisingly make a touch of dubstep not sound lame — on the contrary — he makes it sound absolutely infectious. From the record’s colorful blend of electropop to it it’s intoxicating harmonies, Sylvan Esso has created a gorgeous and lively collection of 10 songs that will take you to the dancefloor, as well as become your next road trip soundtrack.

Sylvan Esso’s self-titled debut album will be released on May 13th via Partisan Records. The duo are currently on tour with tUnE-yArDs and have a Los Angeles date at the Fonda Theatre on June 5th. More tour dates below!
