September 14 — Clams Casino at The Novo
Last time we caught hip-hop/electronic musician and producer Clams Casino aka Mike Volpe on stage he performed an ace set chock full of songs from his debut album 32 Levels, plus hits from his previous mix-tapes dating all the way back to 2011. Clams Casino is always bringing his A-game so expect nothing short of that when he plays The Novo this month, alongside Lil B.
September 14 — Beyoncé at Dodgers Stadium
The fiercest R&B/pop diva in the world Beyoncé is coming to Los Angeles and is ready to slay! Get into formation Los Angeles because Beyoncé’s The Formation World Tour is crashing Dodger Stadium this September for the ultimate concert experience with the Queen Bee herself.
September 16 —Artivista feat. Alice Bag, La Marisoul (La Santa Cecilia) & More at Ford Theatre
The newly renovated Ford Theatre will be host to Artivista (Artista +Activista), a memorable and enlightening evening of music and art centered around stories of equality, empowerment and social justice. The amazing lineup of performers includes Alice Bag, La Marisoul (of La Santa Cecilia), Georgina Anne Muldrow, Medusa, Martha Gonzalez (of Quetzal), Maya Jupiter, The Oracle Jayne Doe, Ceci Bastida, Irka Mateo, Marisa Ronstadt and Kara Mack. Also be sure to explore the art exhibit curated by Self-Help Graphics and installation by renowned master altar builder Ofelia Esparza.
September 16 — Saint Motel at the Belasco
Los Angeles indie pop group Saint Motel are keeping things groovy these days with their disco infused new single “Move” and accompanying 360° virtual experience music video. Their debut full-length saintmotelevision is due out in October via Elektra and we’re expecting more dance fueled tunes to keep us moving. September 16 — Tedeschi Trucks Band at Orpheum Theatre
Blues rock (with a gospel flair) supergroup Tedeschi Trucks Band led by famed hubby-and-wife duo Derek Trucks and Susan Tedeschi will be bringing down the house at the Orpheum Theatre with spirited, clever jams from their third studio album Let Me Get By. Nicki Bluhm and The Gramblers will be warming up the stage with vintage-meets-modern California inspired tunes from their latest release Loved Wild Lost.
September 17 — Brainfeeder, Shabazz Palaces, Flying Lotus & More at the Hollywood Bowl
Los Angeles independent record company Brainfeeder has blessed the City of Angels with some of the most exquisite, futuristic R&B, instrumental hip-hop, and electronic artists on the scene. This special Hollywood Bowl show presented by Brainfeeder will feature must-see performances by Shabazz Palaces, Flying Lotus, George Clinton and Parliament Funkadelic, Thundercat and The Gaslamp Killer. Groove on with your damn self!
September 17 — Butch Walker at Teragram Ballroom
Dreamy singer-songwriter/guitarist/producer Butch Walker is taking his new album Stay Gold on tour and Los Angeles fanatics can see him up close and personal at Teragram Ballroom. Prepare to fall in love and get ready to boogie down to songs like “East Coast Girl” and “Wilder in the Heart,” — swoon! The Wind and The Wave and Suzanne Santos get this show rolling.
September 17 — Chance The Rapper at Greek Theatre
Last time we saw Chance The Rapper live he was busting out some sick freestyle raps alongside Kendrick Lamar and Earth, Wind and Fire. The independent music enthusiast and rising hip-hop mc is taking over The Greek Theatre with special tbd guests and hella dope tunes such as “All We Got” and “No Problem” from his new album Coloring Book.
September 18 — Kraftwerk at Hollywood Bowl
Kraftwerk are THE master architects of electronic music and true pioneers in the genre. When we saw them live a few years ago we were blown away by their commanding performance and we’re anticipating nothing less for their monumental upcoming 3-D performance at the Hollywood Bowl which will feature a combination of music, performance art and computer animations. Lyris Quartet opens with their own adaptations and interpretations of rare Kraftwerk songs.
