Nick Waterhouse katchi

It’s nearly impossible to be a fan of Nick Waterhouse without being a fan of Leon Bridges. With the two known for their smooth throwback sound full of those sweet doo-wop vibes, it’s no wonder the delightful crooners have team up for a duet. Just a couple days ago Waterhouse shared his new track “Katchi.” The playful song features Waterhouse’s buddy Leon Bridges. But what the hell is “Katchi”? Is it a person? Is it a fever? Is it something sexy?

“Leon and I were in Fort Worth hanging out at a friend’s place getting massages. He was laying on the table while I strummed the chords, bare chested, he shouted out “she give me KATCHI!”… His mother’s old Louisiana Indian term for ‘loving touch’. We rode it out and next thing we know we had a straight cruiser,” revealed Waterhouse in an interview with the Fader.

So the next time you’re snuggling up to your boo, ask them for some “kathchi.”

On September 30, Nick Waterhouse’s will release his third full-length studio album, Never Twice. The new album will be released via Innovative Leisure digitally, on CD and 180 gram vinyl. To celebrate the new work, Waterhouse will kick off his tour on September 24 in Long Beach at the Music Tastes Good festival. Additional cities include Portland, Brooklyn, Philadelphia and more.
