We are entering times in which the opportunities of experiencing shows of live living legends are becoming scarce. Although some genres are no longer on the spotlight in the mainstream, their style has shaped and inspired today’s sounds. Lee Fields has been on the soul path for decades and his recent productions are rich in the soulful sound of the 70’s. The El Rey Theatre in Los Angeles hosted a night with Lee Fields and The Expressions executing a memorable performance where friends and lovers in the crowd melted together.

With catchy melodies and lyrics about love, lost love, taking care of life and other life realities — Lee Fields’ passionate voice was felt throughout the theatre. As a special treat, Lady Wray opened up his performance adding touches of powerful female energy before he took over the stage. Opening the night was Holy Hive, an odd yet interesting pair to start the night.
