After touring all over the country, Los Angeles band Chicano Batman finally landed back home with three sold out shows at the Fonda Theatre.  Tickets were in great demand after the first two shows were sold out a third night had to be added. The band did not come alone, they brought a stellar line-up of talent from Los Angeles and beyond.

I made it to the last show featuring El Haru Kuroi from East LA and Khruangbin from Houston Texas. The crowd was captivated by both bands during their performance and the wait for the main dish was seamless.  Their psychedelic sounds were hypnotic with their own respective flavors. The night was already unique and filled with talent at this point, yet it burst in excitement once Chicano Batman took the stage.

In the same week in which Chicano Batman released their latest video  “Freedom is Free,” natural disasters hit different corners of the planet, the sentiment of togetherness could be felt in the theater through their powerful performance. Their new material is strong, fresh and necessary, and after this show, I must get their latest album to play on repeat. So should you.
