NEW LOCATION

Beach Goth 2018 will take place Sunday, August 15 at its awesome new location, none other than the Los Angeles State Historic Park. Once home to the old FYF, it looks like Beach Goth is making the admired Downtown location its new home. We’re so happy to have another music festival take over this iconic location nestled in Downtown LA’s Chinatown neighborhood.

“Most festivals are a sea of sameness,” says Brooks Nielsen, lead singer of The Growlers, curators of Beach Goth 2018. “This year we’re taking back Beach Goth, reclaiming it for the band and our fellow weirdos, misfits, and colorful outsiders,” says Nielsen, referring to The Growlers’ long-running (and recently settled) lawsuit brought by Orange County live music venue The Observatory over usage of the “Beach Goth” name.

“Beach Goth 2018 will definitely be more ‘carnival’ than ‘festival.’ It’s about art, songs, and performances that come from real materials and raw energy, things that have to be experienced in-person,” says Nielsen. “LA is The Growlers’ home, and the Los Angeles State Historic Park is the perfect place for Growlers fans to come get weird in a beautiful, chill, and safe environment.”
