Despite a mid-afternoon brush fire near Griffith Park, the Greek Theatre kept its gates open and Tuesday night’s show prevailed! Starting the night off was the very talented Amber Coffman. The former guitarist/vocalist of indie rock band, Dirty Projectors went solo in 2017 after leaving the band. Her act is nothing short of dreamy. You can check out her debut record City of No Reply out now via Columbia Records.
Without further ado, Sylvan Esso took stage! The electro-pop duo from North Carolina is comprised of producer Nick Sanborn and frontwoman Amelia Meath. Together the two create a captivating experience whether you’re experiencing live at a concert or in the car through your stereo. As for Tuesday night’s audience, they’re glad they made it out to the show.
Sylvan Esso’s team really brought some stellar sound production to life. It was their first night out on the road for tour and boy did they give a show! With songs like “Kick Jump Twist” and the latest release “PARAD(w/m)E” the energy on stage mixed with the crowds’ caused the best type of commotion shared. Friends and couples were dancing together in the aisles of the theatre! The duo’s Grammy nominated sophomore record What Now released last year and is still getting high praise. With last month’s release of the before-mentioned single “PARAD(w/m)E”, listeners are getting anxious for what’s in store from these two. Sylvan Esso’s performance lit up the night sky above the Greek Theatre and we won’t be forgetting it any time soon.
