L.A.-based dream pop duo RKCB have released the latest single off their upcoming Shores EP in the form of the melancholic “Till We’re In The Sea.” A pulsating ballad that takes one of the bigger crisis of our time in climate-change and attempts to peer into it from a fresh perspective—one that is more honed in on not just the environmental impact but also on the human soul. What happens when such a fundamental and dependent-relationship as humankind and nature starts to deteriorate? Coupled with ethereal vocals in a similar vein as Bon Iver, duo Riley Knapp and Casey Barth have crafted a lyrical and gorgeously textured touchstone with how to talk about climate-change through music.

“‘Till We’re in the Sea’ was inspired by zooming out of our everyday experience with nature and trying to look at a larger timeline. We wanted to ask some bigger questions about our relationship with nature as a species, as we’ve evolved, and what the next phase of that is. As you grow with something, whether a partner, a place, anything really, it’s important to step back and take stock, and this song was us trying to do that with the world around us, and see what we’re bringing to the table.”

“Till We’re In The Sea” follows the release of RKCB’s beautiful singles “Alone With You Pt. 2” and “Know Love” — both released in 2018.

RKCB will be going on tour this spring making stops at The Troubadour in Los Angeles on March 9 and The Constellation Room in Santa Ana on March 7. Their EP Shores is out February 28 Visit the band’s website and Facebook to stay updated on new music and tour announcements.
