The year’s most anticipated debut record is coming from King Princess, though it still does not have a release date. But Cheap Queen, as it will be called, is already stacking up to be a memorable one, with now its third single revealed ahead of the album. The latest is “Prophet,” a sensual ballad that debuted during the Brooklyn artist’s recent winter tour. For your chance to see King Princess live, grab tickets to her show at the Wiltern this coming January.

King Princess burst onto the scene last February with a beautiful love song called “1950,” then she solidified her status as a queer icon last fall with the bombastic alt pop bop “Pussy Is God.” Though the new single is not as obvious, she still maintains an acute sexuality, vowing on “Prophet” to be “your pretty girl, when you want it.” Most of her music is fueled by her worship for women, and yet she still finds time to make grown men cry (see “Cheap Queen” below). King Princess is the queer, feminist icon we deserve.
