Death-pop duo VOWWS unleashes their playfully dark new single “womanizer” their rendition of the iconic Brittany Spears’ sizzling track. The offering exudes a bubbly air, but with sinister soundscapes and deep vocals. The band reveals, “We covered Britney! Here’s our version of ‘womanizer’ by Britney Spears! We wanted to keep it interesting & cover a song that came from somewhere completely different to us.”
The bold, eccentric video takes Brittany to a whole new level! Shot on what appear to be vintage format video (perhaps VHS?), the video was produced, arranged and mixed by VOWWS with additional production and track processing by Kevin S. McMahon at Marcata Recording and mastered by Emily Lazar at The Lodge.
VOWWS is an angst-filled project surging with pure passion. Feeding off of popular culture and advertising, they concoct music with unique messages and moody, mechanical arrangements. Their experimental style gained them the attention of prominent collaborators including Gary Numan and Deftones frontman Chino Moreno. This latest track possesses that same hypnotic sound they are known for.
