
Sampa Tembo, better known as Sampa The Great is a Zambian artist based in Australia with plenty of world experience. Bringing her wide influences and undeniable fierceness to The Roxy in West Hollywood, Sampa The Great kept loving fans excited the entire performance.
This rapper, songwriter has released multiple albums throughout her career including partnerships with various talented artists. Her sounds range from hip hop to South African beats, making for high energy tracks. At the Roxy, Sampa The Great sang fan favorites that many adoring fans in the crowd sang along with, breaking into screams to “Black Girl Magik”, “Final Form” and “OMG”. Sampa debuted her latest collaboration with Angelique Kidjo “Let Me Be Great” and also sang her remix collaboration with Gabriel Garzon Montano “Agüita” which adds Bemba language to its English version.

Sampa the Great exuded strength since stepping onto the stage. The artist did not travel alone. Her band was composed of Zambian artists and family members including her sister Mwanje who is also a singer / songwriter. The performance was exceptional and we cannot wait to see what the future brings for this rising star.
