With her newest single “girl ur so pretty,” Mexican/ Dominican bilingual songstress Ambar Lucid creates a pop infused dreamscape that revels in an enticing and flirty romanticism between two friends, one of whom has a boyfriend. While the relationship isn’t defined, and there are some barriers, the draw between these two individuals inevitably pulls them together.

Bright, catchy and explorative, “girl ur so pretty” showcases a multitude of Ambar Lucid’s talents from her silky smooth vocals to her songwriting skills and overall range. It also marks a new chapter in Lucid’s life where growth, confidence, and authentic self-expression all come to a new crescendo. Relating it to the Tarot card Estrella, Lucid notes that she is embodying the nourishing symbol throughout the next phase in her journey.

“Inspired by the color pink, sparkles, and characters like Rue and Jules from Euphoria, GUSP is the first introduction to Estrella – the bold and confident woman I am becoming, fully embracing and owning my fluidity, identity, and self-confidence,” explains Lucid. “Estrella is a voice and a space for others, like me, who grew up in similar communities that challenged self-acceptance and the ability to be your authentic self.”

With a playful music video (directed by Clyde Munroe and filmed in Los Angeles) featuring a chill house party, Lucid gives into her newfound feelings toward her friend. As the party ensues, she and her crush continue to get closer and closer until they finally run off together to share a few tender kisses away from all the other guests.

Over the last few months, Lucid has been finishing her next album, and she is about to embark on her first headlining tour, The Estrella Tour. Kicking off with a sold out show in San Francisco, Lucid will also have several dates in Southern California, including a performance in L.A. at the El Rey Theatre on June 5 and a sold out show on June 6 at the San Diego House of Blues.
