Basically, sh!t happens. People get sick, things come up, and non-scalping concert-goes just want to make their money back or at least a portion of the ticket sale when they can no longer attend. This has happened to me a couple of time where I can no longer make it to a show (because #momlife) and have opted to either give the tickets away, or resale them for lower than face value on Ticketmaster or VividSeats.

Also, the day of a sold-out concert, a lot tickets tend to be released. These tickets are commonly on hold via the artist, venue, promoter and / or label. They’re usually on hold for friends and family, vendors, advertisers, press, etc. As show dates near, tickets get released because quite simply, sh!t happens and people can no longer make it.

Pro Tip: If you don’t see any resale tickets just yet, check the day before your desired show date and the day of. They will pop up.
