Reyna Tropical “Conocerla”

Reyna Tropical gives us a new preview of her hotly anticipated debut album Malegría with the release of its second single “Conocerla.” Over a sultry rhythm of scorched and crackling guitars, she lays down an intoxicating message of acceptance and pride toward her manifold identity. Unfolding as a smoldering slow dance with herself that embraces with loving passion the multitudes that course within. Produced by Reyna and Nay Mapalo — who also offers up the track’s mesmerizing array of synths, bass, and beats — the single joins “Cartagena” as another transfixing glimpse at her forthcoming record.

Reyna said via Instagram: “Conocerla is a love song I wrote for myself. A song dedicated to the multiplicity and multi-faceted experiences that I carry and act from as a queer, norteña woman — rebuking the lifelong narrative of being told que no soy ni de aquí ni de allá. It’s a slow, consistent movement that dances towards belonging in the in between, a place of sensuality, acceptance, and creation.”

Malegría the new album from Reyna Tropical is out on March 29th via Psychic Hotline. See her at her Los Angeles release show at The Masonic Lodge at Hollywood Forever on Thursday, April 4th.

Flyana Boss “yeaaa”

With their signature flair, Flyana Boss has unleashed another manic hit in the form of “yeaaa,” the track coming with the announcement that the Los Angeles duo will release a new EP This Ain’t The Album next month. Sharing the bop through a series of TikTok videos the single is a bass-thrumming smasher that finds the pair blitzing through heady beats and warped electronics. One that accelerates their dazzling bravado toward a hypnotic velocity, its erratic beats punctuating every self-hyping bar. Plug in and let the rap phenoms inject another flooring anthem into your ears.

This Ain’t The Album the new EP from Flyana Boss is out March 29th via Atlantic. See them at The Echoplex in Los Angeles on March 28th.

Jacklen Ro “Drifting”

Jacklen Ro is entering the new year buoyed by the woozily radiant love that floats from their latest single “Drifting.” With earnest honesty the duo gives voice to the elated meanderings of a youthful heart, unsure about life’s endless wayfaring possibilities, but certain about whom they wish to share it with. “When everything else goes the wrong way / We’re unconditionally okay,” they croon softly against the comforting twang of guitars. “Cuz love is all that is real.” Ever the crafters of heartfelt and warming indie-rock the new song is a touching affirmation of emotional necessity that leaves you aglow in the face of life’s uncertainty.
