We might’ve already revealed our 15 best songs of the summer (part one)—but as this week’s trio of favorites makes clear—that doesn’t mean you won’t stumble upon one mid-season. All three are earworms in their own way, be it the alluring voices that burn at their center or the intoxicating mood and energy they spark. After giving them all a listen and inevitably adding them to your summer playlists check out our Best New Songs of the Month to find more!

Uma “Rain on Dancing Men”
Uma shares another preview of Luther, her new mixtape that releases in the fall, with the enchanting new single “Rain on Dancing Men.” Like the tempestuous tropical storm she invokes with her luminous croons as a surreal vision of torrential love, the song’s warmly roiling tones and textures encircle you in their ardent embrace. A downpour of buoyant percussion and glowing bass trailing the dreamy imagery of Uma’s transfixing and tranquilizing lyricism. It’s the kind of lullaby you’d let fill the air of a sultry summer night, suffusing your heart with all the passion of a budding love.
Luther arrives on September 20th via casa nueve.

Karen O & Danger Mouse “Super Breath”
It’s been five years since Karen O and Danger Mouse unveiled their immaculate collaborative project Lux Prima, but now the pair have returned to commemorate the album’s reissue with a fresh single, “Super Breath.” It’s a feverish slow-burner that’s kept alight by O’s mystifying, beguiling voice and the darkly momentous atmosphere conjured by the Mouse. Her carefully flung, incandescent vocals beamed through a smoldering crescendo of foreboding keys, smokey guitars, and all manner of swooning rhythms. Let it rumble through the stereo as you soar toward the horizon and the sizzling orange sunset that’s sinking into it.
“Super Breath” will be included on the A-side of a new 7″ that will also include “Perfect Day” by Lou Reed” as the B-side. In addition to the Lux Prima reissue, fans will also get a 16-page booklet with photos from the band’s immersive event “Encounter with Lux Prima.”

Flyana Boss “Hot Butter Summertime”
As we reach the very height of summer, bestie-duo Flyana Boss has dropped a timely hype anthem with their new single “Hot Butter Summertime.” With gleeful rowdiness, they exude sensuality and confidence that’s characteristically joyous and unapologetic, syncing their rapidly gliding bars to a throbbing beat. They also released a lyric video and music video for the song, the latter unfolding as a stunning bit of choreography they shot in one stunning take (filmed/edited by Sasha Paskal, camera Movement/direction by Hollywood). If you need a reminder to flip the freak switch and permit yourself to unabashedly make the most of your summer, this irresistible track is it.
