Coachella Weekend Two is just days away, and with this year’s festival reportedly the most crowded one yet, fans are going to want every bit of comfort they can get. We spoke with fans and Coachella workers who experienced Weekend One, and they shared their best advice on what they wish they hadn’t left behind. Even veterans who have attended since the festival’s inception still manage to forget things on their annual pilgrimage to the desert. If you’re headed to Weekend Two, here’s what you shouldn’t leave home without.

Honestly a mask or even just something to protect your throat and lungs 😭 I didn’t realize how intense the dust would be until after and now I’m paying for it lol

What We Recommend:
We highly recommend bringing along a cotton bandana to prevent that dreadful Coachella cough. It can also double as a sweat cloth when you’re feeling the heat. This weekend is expected to hit the 90s in true Coachella sizzling fashion. With that said, HYDRATE!

Quite a few things! The weather was a lot colder/windier than we anticipated so a bunch of our canopies flew away 😭 I definitely wish I had brought a nice comfy jacket for how cold it was!
~ Jasmin (Coachella Attendee)
What We Recommend:
Nail down those canopies like you’re camping during a hurricane, because that’s what it can sometimes feel like. These heavy-duty tent stakes should do the trick. And bring a jacket! You’re gonna want something lightweight that can easily compact in your backpack while still keeping you warm.

What I wished I packed? The part of my brain that remembered where I parked my car. That automobile playing Where’s Waldo like it owes me money.
~ Indiemuze (Coachella Attendee since 2004)
What We Recommend:
That’s an easy fix! It’s all about leaving an Air Tag in your car. Never lose your vehicle after a music festival again!

This is my sixth year going to Coachella, and I’ve mastered the packing part. Having said that, I realized that I didn’t have a good pair of used shoes. I have a couple pairs I could have used, but the weekend would wreck them. So I went with an old pair of running shoes in my closet, and they barely held together. Why not just buy a new pair for the festival? Because you have to break them in over time. This is also a general reminder to pack for comfort – you’re going to be doing a lot of standing, and walking. I like to run between different stages, catching as many acts as I can. Make sure your body doesn’t pay for it later, by wearing shoes that will maximize your fun and minimize discomfort.

What We Recommend:
Foot care is crucial at an extensive music festival like Coachella, where your body, and especially your feet, take a beating. In addition to the appropriate footwear, pack blister bandaids, keep these things on standby (for all those who love to wear worn-in boots/Docs), and consider getting some insoles.

I’ve been working Coachella many years but one thing that I wished i packed in the past was a bandana and sunglasses and night glasses or goggles to help protect your eyes and face from the dust and wind. Many people don’t think about this until you get hit in the face with a big dust cloud.
For example, last year my friend went to go see Lisa at Sahara and she stood next to Lisa’s boyfriend who is the son of the Louis Vuitton empire. They got a big wind dust during the show and it got all on his face and eyes . No amount of money will protect you from the desert wind and dust.
~ Annel A. (Artist Relations at Coachella)
What We Recommend:
Get the fun night goggles, get the bandana mask, and if you wanna go all out, throw on some party goggles and get this thing (pretend you’re in Dune …).

Blister prevention and bandaids! Even if your Coachella fit features a fresh set of 608s, you’re gonna log some serious steps, especially if your day plan involves any trips between Main Stage and Sahara.
~ Bryan O. (Coachella YouTube Live Stream Production)
What We Recommend:
Again, foot care is so important at music festivals. Pack these blister band aids in your packpack or fanny pack, and use this for blister prevention before putting on your socks and kicks.
