Punk for the soul. Check out Zinchikurandan from Shinjuku, Tokyo, Japan. The self-proclaimed ‘stinky girl band’ released their debut four-track EP this past March. Ever since, they’ve been cutting their teeth playing shows in and around Tokyo.

If you like aggressive punk rock, with performances that are literally in your face with bodies floating over your head, you will love these shredders, Zinchikurandan. They embody the chaotic energy of X-Ray Spex’s Poly Styrene and GG Allin, both rooted in performance art and wildly unconventional. But they also have those feminist riot girrrl Bikini Kill vibes.

Equally intense with a DIY spirit, Zinchikurandan sings about tampons, divorce, and why do I have to toast with an old geezer?, among other topics, you may not understand unless you speak Japanese. But they sound fiercely underground, and by the looks of it, put on a fully immersive performance with comedic banter and guitars that give pure face melts.
