The singer-songwriter and guitarist, Karen Dió, first began rockin’ as part of the band Violet Soda, releasing a self-titled album and an MTV Unplugged-inspired project during their tenure. At the same time, she quietly started her own solo career, debuting in 2017 with the single “Do It.” However, when Violet Soda dissolved and nearly made her want to quit music altogether, she came back to solo material and quickly recalibrated with with the rock punk as f*ck, “Sick Ride.”

Karen Dió made 2024 “My World” with her new EP, out now via Hopeless Records, serving as a shining example of a burgeoning scene out of Brazil. It’s been pretty much full throttle for Karen since then, which couldn’t be more perfect considering her high-energy performances put the pedal to the metal.

Fast forward to 2025 and Karen Dió has toured with bands like Sum 41, New Found Glory, Limp Bizkit, and Avenged Sevenfold, along with playing countless music festivals around the world and going strong.

This past April, Karen released two new singles: “Casual”, a Chappell Roan cover, and “I Wanna Be”, a Pitty cover, on which we hear Dió sing in both Portuguese and English.
