Sharon Van Etten’s new album, Are We There is now available to stream a week before its May 27 release date via iTunes Radio. The eleven-track record is one of Van Etten’s most gorgeous and heartfelt pieces of work since the release of her highly acclaimed 2012 release, Tramp. The album is chock-full of powerful rock ballad, soaring climaxes, anthemic vocals, and even a cute outake where Van Etten giggles “Sorry! My headphones fell off.”

While the album as a whole is sonically beautifully and poetic to perfection, a few standout songs are: “Every Time The Sun Comes Up”  — it’s sullen, yet glimmers with a dark beauty; “Your Love Is Killing Me” soars with emotion and will pull at your heart strings; and “Afraid Of Nothing” is absolutely mesmerizing with it’s lulling melodies and symphonic tones.

You can stream Sharon Van Etten’s new album, Are We There via iTunes Radio “First Play”, but we highly suggest you use the iTunes Store app on your iPhone or other IOS device, because if you try via this stupid link you will be very frustrated when you try to launch unless you’re running OS X 10.7 or later. So yeah, use the app. Just pull up the  iTunes Store app, under the music tab, scroll down to the iTunes Radio section and select “First Play Sharon Van Etten — Are We There”.

Sharon Van Etten returns to Los Angeles with a show at the El Rey Theatre on June 29. We highly recommend you purchase tickets before the show sells out.
