Aussie rocker Courtney Barnett and Nova Scotian indie outfit Alvvays will team up for a show at the Glass House in Pomona on Thursday, April 14. Both are slated to perform at Coachella on consecutive Saturdays, April 16 and April 23rd. But before they do that, they’ll partake in a show that’s part of Coachella’s yearly sideshow series.
Barnett is coming off a masterful year that included the release of her debut full-length album Sometimes I Sit and Think, Sometimes I Just Sit. In addition, Barnett got a GRAMMY nomination for Best New Artist, one of the first independent musicians to do so. We’ve covered her numerous times, and her live performance is not one you want to miss. She will also be at Governors Ball and Hangout Fest this summer.
Alvvays released their own debut self-titled album in 2014 and have toured extensively behind it. They’ll have some new material in tow and if their Echoplex show late last year is any indication, every hipster in the Valley will be at this set that Thursday in April.
Tickets to the show are priced at $25.00 for this all-ages show and go on sale Friday, February 5 at 12 noon PT, as do most of the Coachella sideshows. Doors are at 8 PM and the show starts at 8:45 PM.
