Small, intimate shows seems to be trending in Los Angeles. From the Rolling Stones playing the Echoplex, to Iceland’s Dead Skeletons performing a very D.I.Y. show at the NOMAD this past Thursday — there is a charming revival of the underground music scene flowing strong in L.A. This past Thursday, we were very excited to see the obscure, Dead Skeletons perform live in such a setting with Grimy Goods favorites, the Soft Moon. Unfortunately, the police and their ghetto-birds flew over the NOMAD shining their bright spotlights on the crowd and forcing the live music to come to an end after Dead Skeletons’ set. The Soft Moon were unable to play, which was a major bummer as we were looking forward to watching them blow our minds. However, you can catch the Soft Moon in all their dark, post-punk glory at the Echoplex on June 6.
Needless to say, it was still a great nigh of psychedelic vibes with face-melting live performances by Duncan McKnight, Crooked Cowboy, and Dead Skeletons. Check out our photos below!
