I would really love to win these tickets because I would love to take my father. He and I watch KCET’s Austin City Limits every week which is how we found out about Alabama Shakes. We’ve now watched that performance maybe thirty times and sometimes I even catch him watching videos of Alabama Shakes performing live on YouTube. I think it would really cool to surprise him with tickets so he can experience their soul and passion firsthand. I’ve got my fingers crossed!
*unsure if my first comment went through! I might have clicked submit before I was supposed to*
I love Alabama Shakes because they are proof that creativity and hard work can pay off. Their music is unique, fun and more than that, it is soulful and raw. I would love to see them live with my fiance!
Thank you for the opportunity!
PLEASE CHOOSE ME. My fiance and I absolutely LOVE the Alabama Shakes!
Dear Grimy Gods,
Alabama Shakes are my favorite! Gotta love that soul! It would be my dream come true to see them live!
Because I wanna scream like Brittany Howard in public without people looking at me funny…
Alabama Shakes blew me away at Coachella last year! Their passion for performing is inspiring to watch and they sounded incredible live. I’ve been dying to see them since 🙂 I have never been to the Greek theater and have always wanted to go!
Alabama Shakes!!!!! Woohoo!
Well…
It all began when I got a free song off of my Starbucks app. Little did I know that I would discover the most amazing band in the world! The song was “Hold on” and never has any other song spoken to me so truthfully. Brittany’s voice is so raw and incredible, nothing like that rapping crap and sex songs that are always on the radio these days. I love their incorporation of the blues especially in their song “Heavy Chevy.” Their lyrics are so open and real. They are unafraid of what people think and stay true to the sound they want to create which is why they becoming more recognized. To see them live would be an honor and I know I would have the time of my life!!
Sincerely,
A true fan
Dearest Grimy,
It would be my utmost pleasure to see Alabama Shakes at the Greek theater. Not only do I love this epic Los Angeles institution of a venue, but I need to have a chance to show Brittnay and the gang my dance, the Alabama Shake.
I invented this dance while living in the deep south, about 1.5 hours outside of Alabama in the beautiful land full of culture known as North West FL. While getting really really drunk at a weekend of music in Birmingham, as one does, (when in Rome) I preceded to come down and convulsed uncontrollably. Some call it alcoholism, I call it the Alabama Shake.
Now, every time I hear their thunderously soulful music while living in LA, I can’t help but to go into a full body convulsion. It is meant to be.
Grateful for the opportunity!
Would absolutely love to see Alabama Shakes this summer at the Greek! They were one of my favorite performances from the Grammys, along with Kendrick, and the only chances I’ve had to see them before was in massive seas of humanity at Outside Lands 2012 and Coachella 2015. I’d cherish the opportunity to see them under the stars at the Greek with the added luxury of the personal space an assigned seat affords. Thanks for the chance!
I would love to see Alabama Shakes headline The Greek. To me, this band represents a mixture of different musical cultures, creating a sound that so many can identify with. Brittany Howard epitomizes coolness in her delivery; she even plays vibraphone on the album, which makes the band geek in me squeal with joy. When she belts out the lyrics of Gimme All Your Love, it’s impossible not to feel all of her emotions expressed. The band represents everything that should be happening in this generation. I have never listened to an album as many times as Sound & Color. I made sure buy two copies of the album; one for myself, and one to share with a friend, because this music is something wonderful that one shouldn’t keep to themselves.
Alabama Shakes is making music that shakes me up and takes me back in time when music would put a smile on my face and joy in my heart. I would love to rock out at their concert. Peace.
I had tickets years ago as a surprise for my wife for her b day. We had to cancel because she suddenly became ill with the flu. I would love to take her!
I love Alabama shakes just as much anyone here should, her voice is out of this world and the sound of their music from guitars to drums is something you don’t hear everyday. I’d be the happiest girl if I got to see them live.
Hi!
I am a huge Alabama Shakes fan! I love their rock/soul vibes. And Brittany’s voice! Sound and Color is amazing. Would love to see them live, especially at the Greek.
Please “gimme all your love” <3
I love the Greek and Alabama Shakes!!! Brittany Howard is so powerful and I would love to see them live!!
Need to see them live. Great soulful music.
I’ve never seen them live and would love to see them at the Greek! They perform with so much soul and emotion. Such a talented group!
I’m literally lying on my sofa home sick with Influenza B. Yes, B. I had no idea there were letters attached. After two doctor visits and an exorbitant amount of money for my prescription (thanks Martin Shkreli), all I can do is look foward to being able to go outside again. Alabama Shakes at the Greek could be the one thing that gives me hope of getting better. Too sappy? I blame it on the 100.5° temp and Tamirflu. Thank you.
Hello there!
This contest might be one of the best ever. Alabama Shakes AND Dawes = 2 of my fav bands. The Greek Theatre = my fav venue. This show is pretty much a dream concert. Gonna cross my fingers, toes, eyes and anything else I can cross for this one! It’d be such an amazing night of music. 🙂
Lo-fi retro-rock may be all the rage, but Brittany Howard & her bandmates keep it real and they know how to pump up the crowd! Paired with LA’s roots-country darlings Dawes, this sounds like a perfect midsummer show.
I absolutely love her voice and I love the sound of this band. I think new bands with such a strong tone such as this band’s, are hard to find nowadays and I can only hope that I’m able to experience them live one day 🙂
I need to go, ’cause the singer’s voice just brings out the 97y/o heartbroken woman in me ?
Alabama Shakes is so EPIC live and I would love to catch this show and dance the night away!
