Rebel and a Basketcase just released a playful new video for their most intimate song yet, “Lightning Look.” The colorful video stars the dynamic duo made up of Evan Rachel Wood and Zach Villa, and is also Wood’s directorial debut. While Rebel and a Basketcase’s past released videos for “Oh Yeah” and “Escondido” felt more like friendly, fun introductions to the band, their new video for “Lightning Look” is much more personal, opening a door to Wood’s and Villa’s relationship.
We’ve mentioned it before, “the chemistry between the two is truly infectious,” and now you all know why the duo’s chemistry is something so great, it’s almost tangible. Wood and Villa recently announced their engagement, and their video for “Lightning Look” couldn’t be more symbolic of their love.
Rebel and a Basketcase stick to their 80s throwback theme with scenes of the two getting adoringly intimate at a roller disco. Between the much more personal scenes and lyrics, there’s no denying what this song is all about. Watch it for yourself below!
Rebel and a Basketcase have announced a Los Angeles date at The Satellite for Thursday, February 23. The duo will open up for NEW EViL, along with supporting acts Sugar Fly and GiGi GASH. Tickets are priced at $10 and can be purchased here.
