Georgi Kay

What’s your guilty pleasure? Chocolate? The Real Housewives? Carly Rae Jepsen? Georgi Kay wants you to get guiltier. Without completely abandoning a sense of morality, Kay advocates for exploration of intrigue, even if the subject of your desire is already spoken for. Her new single is filled with pulsing bass that could fill an auditorium, with unapologetically enticing synths breathing in the background. Grimy Goods has the exclusive stream below.

[perfectpullquote align=”full” cite=”” link=”” color=”#FF78FF” class=”fistclass” size=”15″]“[‘Guilty Pleasures’] is about falling in love with someone who, despite a deep, mutual emotional connection, is romantically tied down by another. It’s about sinking into the intensity of that connection on a spiritual, mental and emotional level, because you are unable to explore the physical side of that bond. … You dream up a fantasy where you get to fully explore every aspect of that relationship, including the one you are forbidden to in reality.” – Georgi Kay[/perfectpullquote]

Kay is a British-Australian artist now living in LA who has been making music since puberty. She honed her skills as a songwriter and electronic musician, adept at creating four on the floor beats on the fly at her live shows. Her skills have landed her many television and film opportunities, such as on the BBC mini series Top of the Lake; the Netflix series Residue; the indie film Sleight; and coming soon, a horror film called Sweetheart. Her music will creep into your life one way or another, and the pleasure will be all yours, no guilt required.
