Australian band Middle Kids are back with a new EP set to drop May 24 via Domino. In celebration the band has shared a new single titled “Real Thing.” The track is a deliciously anthemic ditty, set to make you chime in and sing.
Band mates Hannah Joy, Harry Dale and Tim Fitz recorded the 6-song EP in their own studio back in Sydney Australia. New Songs for Old Problems is an exciting new venture for the young band, and the announcement is punctuated with their new single “Real Thing.” You can watch the video for the new song below!
“Real Thing” is a youthful exclamation of love for life and self exploration. It’s the sonical representation of those questions we asked ourselves while at the cusp of adulthood.
“It’s the quiet, persistent voice in the stillness that constantly checks to see if you truly think you’ve found the thing you’re looking for,” said Joy of the song.
Middle Kids has gained a substantial following since the release of their debut album, Lost Friends. The band has received recognition from fans and music critics alike.
We last caught the Middle Kids live in Los Angeles this past December and they were quite the added treat live. Middle Kids go on tour with Local Natives this spring with a stop in Los Angeles on June 22 at the Hollywood Palladium.
