Mara Connor’s New EP “No Fun” Is A Stream of Joy

Mara Connor

Last Saturday, rising indie folk knockout Mara Connor debuted her sultry new EP “No Fun” via Instagram livestream of Los Angeles hot spot, Zebulon. Despite being quarantined and separated by a screen, Mara still managed to serenade us with her heavenly vocals and Americana energy. She was also accompanied by special guests Sam Outlaw, Desure, Cale Tyson, Ryan Pollie, and more.

The titular track of Mara’s debut EP perfectly embodies her style with a retro folk soundscape a la Angel Olsen. The hook builds with anthemic guitar and stunning violin strings that synthesize a heart-melting harmony. It was lauded by Rolling Stone (as a “Song You Need to Know” and playlisted with Neil Young and St.Vincent).

“Wildfire,” another beautifully sad song on the EP is buoyant romantic ballad spiked with country spurs. The track was recently featured on Grimy Goods’ popular Best New Songs of the Month playlist, as well as here. Both tracks prove Mara’s talent for achieving the ultimate melancholy. Altogether, Mara’s 4-track EP is a gorgeous listen and will leaving you craving more.

Keep up with Mara Connor via her Facebook, and Instagram to stay updated on new releases and tour announcements.
